Sharing calendars through Gmail and documents through Dropbox? How do you handle sensitive documents and family finances? We have a secure solution.

PiCloud is your own home server — physically at your place. Shared calendars, contacts and documents on your hardware, not on foreign servers abroad. Silent, energy-efficient and always ready.

It also blocks ads, lets you store sensitive documents securely, and manage your finances in a dedicated app. Easily expandable with additional apps and remote access via a secured VPN.

Your hardware. Your data. Your rules.

What you get

Hardware
Raspberry Pi 5 (Raspberry Pi Foundation) fitted with a Suptronics X1001 NVMe expansion board and NVMe SSD drive, all housed in a compact aluminium Geekworm X1011 chassis.

Software
Raspberry Pi OS Lite comes pre-installed with the app manager CasaOS, which lets you control everything through a clean web interface — no command line needed.

Pre-installed apps

Nextcloud — automatic backup of photos and files from your phone and computer, shared calendars and contacts for the whole family. The Memories module offers browsing photos on a timeline — just like Google Photos, but on your own server.

Pi-hole — blocks ads and tracking at the network level, on every device at once, with no browser extensions required.

Firefly III — a complete overview of personal and family finances in one place. Automatic transaction import. Your financial data stays with you only — no bank, no third party.

Kopia — pre-installed backup tool for the entire PiCloud to your own external drive or remote storage.

One-click extensions

Through CasaOS you can install additional popular apps at any time, for example: n8n, Home Assistant, OpenHAB, evcc, Paperless-ngx and many more.

Openness and documentation

All software and configuration images are published as open-source on OpenTUX. CE declarations of conformity and technical documentation for individual hardware components are available on the respective manufacturers' websites.

Is PiCloud suitable for a household with no technical knowledge?
Yes. Management is done through the clean CasaOS web interface — no command line. If you can use a regular website, you can use PiCloud. Documentation and support are available at opentux.eu if you run into any trouble.
How do I access my data away from home?
VPN (e.g. WireGuard / Tailscale).
What happens if the drive fails?
PiCloud is a single-drive solution — data is not automatically mirrored. We recommend regular backups to an external drive or remote storage using the pre-installed Kopia app. If you want automatic mirroring to a second drive, take a look at Pi-NAS.
Does Pi-Cloud meet GDPR requirements?
Data is stored physically at your location — it is never transferred to foreign servers abroad. You have full control over who can access it and where it resides.
Can I build Pi-Cloud myself?
Yes — we share guides, images and source code at opentux.eu. Pi-Cloud S is for those who want a ready-to-use setup right away, without spending hours assembling and configuring everything from scratch.
